Babu Parameswaran is the Director of Keerthana School of Indian Music & Fine Arts in Los Angeles, California.
He has performed with leading dancers like The Dhananjayans, Dr.Vyjayanthi Mala Bali, Guru Adyar Lakshman, and he has also performed for India’s Dancer Icon Prahu Deva and many others.
Babu is a staff artist of Bharata Kalanjali, the dance academy of the world-renowned dancers "The Dhananjayans" for more than 23 years and one of the most sought after musicians who travels around the world and performs through out the year.
He has performed in most major festivals like the Festival of India in Moscow. He has composed music for many dance productions like Meera, The Nutcracker, The Cinderella, Tagores Shyama, Thulsi Ramayan, Kalidasas Malavika Haricharan and many others. He has performed in the Carnegie Hall, as well as for the proclamation of the Pandit Ravishankar day in San Diego.
Babu created computer based music for the contemporary dance production GANGA-LIFE AS A RIVER produced by Arpana Dance Company. He has worked with Pandit Ravishankar in his musical theater Ghanashyam and was featured in the album Chants of India by Pandit Ravishankar and George Harrison of the Beatles. Babu Parameswaran is the first South Indian musician to get a green card on his own merit. He was also the recipient of the Washington Immigrant Achievement Award in 2004. Babu has been actively performing in the United States for more than 25 years and is one of the most fulltime Indian Musicians in the United States.
